Andrew Murray Tours Les Jours 2008

The nose is full and rich with stewed purple fruits, like boysenberry jam, and has a great freshness to it.  There are some classic Syrah virtues as well as savory, beef reduction sauce characteristics in the back drop.  The palate follows in step with a velvety, full, balanced profile that is supported by sound acidity and soft tannins.  There are very forward, soft and delicious ruby and black fruits; blackberry and boysenberry, that are accompanied by mild minerality and a complete finish that lingers on the palate for a good duration.  I would say that this wine is drinking well now and will continue to do so for the next 2-3 years.

For the record, Robert Parker liked this wine and rated it 91 points.
