2008 Municipal Winemakers Cabernet Sauvignon

If Charlie Sheen were talking about buying and drinking this wine he would say “WINNING!”  At $27 retail, this wine is a micro production (read: super hand made) from the exciting new Happy Canyon AVA in Santa Barbara County.

NOTES: This wine has a deep dark nose that shows oak and minerality.  The palate is rich and dominated by dark fruits and a nice toasty-ness.  There is a tinge of Syrah character  in there, manifesting as bigger more forward fruit.  There is big wood in the profile along with big woody tannins that match the deepness and richness of the wine nicely.  As always, the Muni wines have a solid acid foundation that makes it able to age for the intermediate term, at least 3-5 years, but it is ready to go now.
