2007 Chateau Smith Cabernet, Washington

Washington State Cabernet 2007 This producer is quite famous for their Syrah wines which are released under the ‘K Vintners’ label.  The Chateau Smith label is their Bordeaux analogue, and why not?  Washington State makes some great Cabernet wines.  The Columbia Valley has a long and dry growing season, so has the potential to produce some concentrated and complex wines.

NOTES: The wine is nice and balanced immediately upon opening, and shows darker fruits with a dark & savory nose.  The palate is full and rich and shows balance and decent depth with hints of marl, and dark raspberry fruits.  This is a decent medium bodied wine that makes for an interesting talking piece.  Bienvenue a Washington.
