2004 Bovio Langhe Nebbiolo Annunziata

This wine starts of with a nice nose that has candied sugar notes buried in a medley of brown raspberry and black fruits, that evolve and develop intriguing old book and leather accents as the wine has a chance to breathe.  The palate is very well balanced and shows great depth and minerality.  The wine came across to me as very true-to-form Nebbiolo, displaying a nettled and balanced palate, drying tannins and decent length but without being a bruiser.  This bottle is great because it does its job well without trying to shoot for the moon and the stars.  Of the flight, this was probably my favorite wine.
